Project Summary

In this key project with Robi Axiata Ltd., I served as an Associate Project Implementation Engineer, focusing on the development and implementation of the Ctg. Virtualization Platform. This role demanded a blend of technical understanding and meticulous project management skills, aimed at enhancing the company’s virtualization capabilities.

Primary Responsibilities and Achievements

Documentation and Planning

My responsibilities included comprehensive documentation, crucial for the platform’s development and maintenance. This entailed creating High-Level Design (HLD), Low-Level Design (LLD), User Acceptance Testing (UAT) plans, Information Security Checklists, Minimum Baseline Security Standards, and detailed handover documentation. These documents were pivotal in ensuring clarity and consistency throughout the project lifecycle.

Hardware Installation and Scalable Architecture Development

A significant aspect of my role was the installation and commissioning of 4 DELL PowerEdge MX7000 servers, creating a Scalable Fabric architecture. This setup was crucial in providing a robust and flexible foundation for the virtualization platform.

Software Installation and Server Configuration

My role extended to software installation, where I was responsible for deploying RedHat Enterprise Linux OS on two PowerEdge R740xd servers. The initial setup included a comprehensive configuration involving RAID setup, ESXi host installation on each blade, and setting up a single vCenter.

Network and Storage Integration

Another key task was integrating SAN storage across the servers using the MX9116n Fabric Switching Engine. This integration was essential for ensuring efficient data storage and accessibility within the virtualization platform.

Security Implementation

Ensuring the security and integrity of the platform was paramount. I undertook thorough Security Hardening and vulnerability mitigation to safeguard the system against potential threats and breaches.

Outcome

The successful implementation of the Ctg. Virtualization Platform at Robi Axiata Ltd. marked a significant advancement in the company’s IT infrastructure. My role as an Associate Project Implementation Engineer was central to this achievement, encompassing a wide range of responsibilities from strategic documentation to technical installation and configuration. The project not only enhanced the operational capabilities of Robi Axiata Ltd. but also demonstrated a high standard of precision and efficiency in managing complex virtualization environments.
